Ever since I started posting outfits with my Gucci Belt, I’ve been bombarded with questions about how to purchase a plus size gucci belt, how I figured out sizing and I made a Gucci belt work for my plus size body.
So, today I’m sharing the exact steps I took so that I would know how to buy a Gucci belt in plus size:
Step One: How to Find your Gucci Belt Size
To find your size in Gucci, you will need to measure your waist in cm. You know best where you like to wear your belt (high on the waist, low on the hips, etc.) so measure your waist exactly where you’d want the belt to live. I suggest putting on your favorite pair of high waist jeans and taking the measuring tape around the waist band, since that’s where your belt will be.
I’ll let you know right now that the largest Gucci belt size is 120cm.
I bought a black Gucci Belt online in 120cm and it was actually too big for me. I had to decide if I wanted to go to a shoe cobbler and have them add holes, or if I wanted to get a smaller size.
I ended up getting a smaller size and exchanging the black for this gorgeous blush Gucci belt because everyone has black and I wanted something a little different/unexpected. It also isn’t sold out as much.
Special Tip: You can also just go into the store and try on belts. I know it feels like it may be embarrassing if it doesn’t fit, but if you do your initial measurements and are clear that the 120cm or less range will work for you, then you can go in confidently and play. Sadly, these belts are in high demand and you’ll probably end up ordering the belt online anyway because that’s the quickest way to get one, but I’m just throwing another option out for you.
Step Two: Choose Gucci Belt Style (Plus Size)
Next you’ll decide if you want a textured leather or smooth leather (I chose smooth).
You’ll also decide on if you want a large logo on your belt or a small one (I went with a small gucci logo at first, then exchanged it for a belt with a larger Gucci logo because I felt like a larger gucci logo was better for my larger body/curves).
Lastly you’ll need to decide on a color. Black is the most popular color which means it’s almost always sold out. I waited for three weeks for the Gucci store on 5th avenue to have a black one and it never happened, that’s why I decided to buy my plus size Gucci belt online.
Special Tip: The mens and women’s belts are exactly the same, so if you decide you want a black one and it’s sold out in women’s, I’d click here and look at the mens version.
Step Three: Add Holes to your Gucci Belt
This step is important but it’s optional. In a perfect world, you’ll be able to tighten/loosen the belt depending on the outfit you’re creating. We want the belt will fit high on your waist using the “tight” holes and low on your hips/waist using the “loose” holes.
If you find that your belt isn’t that versatile, you can take it to a shoe cobbler and have them add holes where needed.
I know it may be intimidating to shop for a Gucci belt, but if you do your homework (like reading this post) and do your measurements, you’ll be able to confidently choose a Gucci Belt for your plus size body.
