Dear CeCe,
I just read your PopSugar article and... girl, you had me gasping. You overdosed on Ozempic?? I had to read it twice. Thank you for being so honest.
I’m considering starting a GLP-1 myself, and I’m overwhelmed.
What are you doing differently this time around? And what advice would you give to someone who wants to start but also wants to protect their body, mind, and budget?
With love and curiosity,
Francesca (aka a Doll on the Fence lol)
Dear Francesca,
After the PopSugar essay on my Ozempic overdose went viral, you dolls flooded my DMs. Yes, it’s true and you can read the full saga here on popsugar.com
Some of you were shocked. Some of you were scared. Most of you were like, “CeCe… I want to start a GLP1. This is helpful.”
And then came the questions, so many smart, thoughtful questions.
Let’s dig into where I am and what I’m doing as I begin my safe, science-backed, self-love inspired return to GLP-1s. Let’s call this my Intentional GLP-1 Glow Up.
If you’re on a GLP-1 journey too, or thinking about starting, this one’s for you. 💉💛
Note: I’m not a doctor but I speak to mine as I create the ozempic routines that work for me. Make sure you speak to your doctor too!
1. CeCe, Where do you get Ozempic or semaglutide?
GLP-1s can be so expensive, my doctor and I were considering ordering mine from Canada just for a price break, but the process was a bit complicated in my opinion. After some research for an accessible, budget-friendly telehealth service, IVY RX caught my eye. They offer compounded semaglutide, and I just placed my first order this week. I’ll be documenting the process to show you how it works when you do it the right way.

2. CeCe, should I do anything to prepare my Gut before starting Ozempic?
YES! The goal? A healthy, supported gut. Nausea and GI issues hit hard last time, and I want my body to have a fighting chance. I won’t take my first injection until I feel my gut is reset and functioning at it’s best. (hint: a timely and productive gut release in the morning is a good sign) So, before starting again, I’m resetting with a water fast (24-48 hours) followed by a colonic. If you’re in NYC, I get my colonics at Geb Hetep in Brooklyn, ask for Tara and tell her that CeCe Olisa sent you.
Then I continue by increasing my protein and fiber.
A typical What I eat in a day is, Breakfast: Cinnamon Roll Protein Smoothie, Lunch: Waldorf Chicken Salad, Dinner: Beef & Green beans pasta in soy sauce all High Protien Curve Method recipes designed to take the stress out of healthy eating so you can focus on feeling your best. 3. CeCe, I’m an ADHD doll and Food is my main source of dopamine, how do I untangle that?
As I mentioned in “Dear CeCe, my Daughter is Gaining Weight and I’m scared” I would encourage all plus size women (particularly black women) to explore ADHD with their doctor. With ADHD, food can become a coping mechanism, not just for hunger, but for stimulation. We don’t want to restrict, we want to continue to build new neural pathways so we can release anything unsupportive (Including food) as stimulation.
4. CeCe, How much water should I drink while on GLP-1 medications?
One of the biggest things GLP-1s do is curb appetite. That can trick you into forgetting to hydrate and nourish. I’m working up to a gallon of water a day before I start so I can sustain it when my hunger signals shift. Stanley has a new spill proof lid that makes it easy to remember to sip.

5. How can I build a support system while using GLP-1s like Ozempic?
I’m not doing this in secret this time. I’m taking you along, with conversations like this that break down how I’m approaching GLP-1s from a place of safety, science, and self-love. I hope that helps you to feel less alone.
More soon,
CeCe
P.S. if this conversation speaks to you, share it with a friend who’s navigating the same questions. Healing is better when we do it together. 💌
